Preparation
Measure
diameter and thickness of button and add 1/8" (0.3 cm) for
bar tacks; mark buttonhole size on fabric. |

- Raise presser foot.
- Place fabric under foot.
- Center three red guidelines( #1 Figure 1) of buttonhole
foot around beginning line of buttonhole.
- Turn
buttonhole dial to the buttonhole symbol "1" for
the first step.
- Position
needle in fabric at point #2 by turning handwheel towards
you.
- Stitch
down to point #3. Your buttonhole should appear as shown
in Figure 2.

- Raise needle out of fabric.
- Turn buttonhole dial to the buttonhole symbol "2"
for the second step.
- Make at least four stitches, ending at point #4.

- Raise needle out of fabric.
- Turn buttonhole dial to the buttonhole symbol "3"
for the third step.
- Stitch up to point #5.

- Raise
needle out of fabric.
- Turn
buttonhole dial to the buttonhole symbol for "4"
for the fourth step.
- Make
at least four stitches, ending at point #6.
- Raise
presser foot and remove garment from machine.
- Clip
thread ends.
- To
open the buttonhole insert a seam ripper from both ends
towards the middle.
