Fabric
- 1 yard green and blue print (Print should resemble trees or should green floral design)
- 1/2 yard blue cotton
- 1/4 yard green cotton (Print should resemble grass)
- 12" X 9" Fusible webbing
- 12" X 12" Cutaway stabilizer
- 14" X 28" batting
- (1) 9" X 12" tearaway stabilizer
- (1) 12" X 12" fusible tearaway stabilizer
- (2) 7" X 14" Fusible webbing
- Bobbinfill
- Chromium needles size 14
- (2) wooden purse handles (preferably round)
- Color 1: 2628 - Purple

Instructions
Fabric Preparation:
- Cut (1) 18" X 16" blue fabric piece
- Iron fusible tearaway on the backside of fabric piece
- Cut (1) 18" X 16" blue fabric piece
- Cut (1) 14" X 10" piece of green fabric that resembles trees or green floral design
- Iron 12" X 9" fusible webbing to backside of fabric
- Cut (2) 18" X 16" pieces of green fabric that resembles trees or green floral design
- Cut (2) 7" X 14" pieces of green fabric that resembles grass
- Iron on fusible webbing on backside of fabric pieces
- Cut (1) 10" X 15" blue slate marble fabric piece
- Iron fusible tearaway on the backside of fabric piece
Directions
- Place the 16" X 18" blue fabric piece with the fusible tearaway in hoop. Hoop fabric so the 16" length goes horizontal in the hoop. *Because the design has alot of stitches, you may have better results by floating one piece of non fusible tearaway under the hoop.
- Embroidery the crane design.
- Remove embroidered fabric from hoop. Remove all stabilizer. Press.
- Trim embroidered fabric piece 13" X 16".
- Remove the fusible webbing and cut a piece of the green floral print and fuse to the embroidered blue fabric as illustrated.
Trim the excess fabric from the sides.

- Set the machine to do the scallop stitch. Run the scallop stitch covering the raw edge of the floral green fabric.
- Cut the two pieces of green fabric resembling grass as illustrated.

- Cut the pieces so it looks like blades of grass as illustrated.

- Remove fusible web and fuse the grass fabric blades by layering both pieces to the bottom of the embroidered piece as
illustrated.

- Cut the top portion of the embroidered piece as illustrated.

- Using the embroidered blue fabric piece as a pattern guide, cut one out of the remaining piece of blue fabric, and two pieces out of the green floral print.
- Sew the two blue pieces together at bottom, right sides together. Sew the sides. Press.
- Sew the two green floral print pieces together at bottom, right sides together. Sew the sides together, leaving a 4" opening on one side. Press.
- Turn embroidered blue piece inside out.
- Turn the floral lining right side out.
- Place the lining inside the embroidered blue fabric piece. The right sides should be together inside the tote. Pin in place.
- Sew the top seams together all around the tote bag, including the extended top piece.
- Turn inside out. Press. Sew opening by hand.
- Turn the extended fabric piece on top of bag and fold towards inside of purse so the top is straight.

- Place handle under the extended piece and stitch the extended fabric piece to the lining of the tote.
