Instructions

Fabric Preparation

Red Fabric:
1. Cut six 2¼” squares.
2. Cut one 18” x 20” piece.
3. Cut five pieces to fit hoop for embroidering design.

Green Fabric:
4. Cut one 18” x 30” piece (Back).
5. Cut one 1¼” x 20” piece.
6. Cut one 1¼” x 30” piece.
7. Cut a piece of green fabric, as illustrated.

Print Fabric:
8. Cut one 18” x 20” piece.

Stabilizer:
9. Cut five pieces of fusible tear-away stabilizer to fit under embroidery hoop.

Embroidery:

  1. Place red fabric with fusible tear-away stabilizer in hoop. Embroider two corner border designs and four regular borders. Remove from hoop.
  2. Trim the embroidered design fabric pieces into 2¼” blocks.

At the Machine:

  1. Remove embroidery unit and embroidery foot. Replace with regular arm and presser foot.
  2. Sew blocks together, as illustrated above.
  3. Place the wrong side of the embroidered piece on the right side of the printed fabric piece.
  4. With a Straight Stitch, sew the embroidered piece on the printed fabric piece. Sew all sides and ends of the embroidered piece.
  5. Fold 1¼” x 20” strip of green fabric 3/8” on both the long sides of the strip toward the center. Press. Follow the same steps with the remaining 1¼” x 30” strip.
  6. Using monofilament thread, top stitch the folded strips along the embroidered designs, covering the selvage edges. Miter strip on the inside and outside “V”. When topstitching the strips, place them so they are right along the very edge of the embroidered designs.
  7. Once the embroidered piece is sewn on the printed fabric and the strips topstitched on the edges, trim the printed fabric 1¼” from the outside strip. Trim the top even.

  1. Using the triangle embroidered fabric piece as a pattern, cut a lining out of the red 18” x 20” piece. When cutting lining, put both pieces right sides together.
  2. Sew both sides of triangle piece, leaving the top open. Turn inside out. Press.
  3. Center the small embroidered triangle piece to the large green triangle. With the wrong side of small triangle piece to the right side of the large green triangle piece, sew the pieces together at the top using ¼” seam allowance.
  4. Place the front embroidered triangle piece to the back piece (18” x 30” piece of green fabric), right sides together. Sew the front embroidered triangle piece to the back piece using a ¼” seam allowance. Press.
  5. Using the embroidered triangle piece that is stitched to the back as a pattern, cut a lining out of the remaining red fabric piece.
  6. Sew both pieces together with a ½” seam allowance, leaving a 4” opening. Turn inside out. Press.
  7. Slip stitch opening.
  8. 15. Stitch a tassel on end of the decorative embroidered triangle.
