Preparation
- Cut two pieces fabric 17” X 17.”
- On one piece of the fabric, with marking pencil or chalk, trace a line 3 inches from the edge on 3 sides. (PHOTO 1)

Sewing Instructions
Cording :
- Select Multi-Stitch Zigzag stitch E.
- Set width to 3.
- Set length between 2 and 3.
- Attach Cording foot.
- Insert one strand of the Bernat yarn under the first notch on the right hand side of the cording foot.
- Stitch following the traced outline on the fabric piece. To pivot at the 2 corners, turn hand-wheel so that the needle penetrates the fabric, lift presser foot and pivot.
- After sewing is complete, if using Bernat yarn, take a needle or pin and release the loose edges of the yarn from the stitches to form the frayed edge.
- Press lightly, covering the cord with a pressing cloth.

Eyelet Stitch:
- Select Eyelet Stitch L.
- Set width to 7.
- Set length to 1.
- Attach Satin foot.
- Lining up the edge of the foot along the edge of the cording, stitch around the interior of all three sides. (PHOTO 2)
- Repeat Eyelet stitch a second time, lining up the foot along the edge of the first eyelet stitch. (PHOTO 3)
- Press lightly.

Ric Rac:
- Select Ric Rac stitch B.
- Set with to 7.
- Set Length to red S setting.
- Attach Satin foot.
- Lining up the edge of the foot with the edge of the second eyelet stitch, stitch around all three sides. (PHOTO 4)
- Press lightly.

Decorative Ribbon:
- Select Eyelet stitch L.
- Set width to 7.
- Set length to 1.
- Attach Satin foot.
- Lining up the foot in the center of the ribbon, stitch from the start to the end of the 3 yards of ribbon.
- Cut the ribbon into 6 equal lengths.
- Press flat.

Finishing Touches:
- Select Zigzag stitch B.
- Set width to 3.
- Set length to 1.
- Attach Satin foot.
- Zigzag the top edge of both the front and back pieces to prevent the edges from fraying.
- Press the two top edges in by ½ inch towards the interior.
- Attach 3 pieces of ribbon to each top section, one in the center and the other two ½ inch from the edge. (PHOTO 5)
- Topstitch using straight, length set at 2. Stitch 3/8 of an inch from the edge.
- Next edge stitch along the edge of the top.
- Repeat this procedure for both the front and the back piece. (PHOTO 6)

Assembly:
- Select straight stitch.
- Set width to 0.
- Set length between 2 and 3.
- Attach Standard presser foot or Even Feed foot.
- Align front and back pieces right sides together.
- Using the seam guide, sew at ½ in around 3 sides, leaving top edge open.
- Trim seams and press open.
- Turn right side out and press seams flat. (Be sure to cover cording with a pressing cloth to prevent scorching).
- Slip-in a pillow form.

You may tie the 3 sets of ribbons and use as a throw pillow. To use as a chair cover, tie the center set of ribbons together, and then secure the two outside sets of ribbon to the back of a chair.
