to register this second point.

Sewing Procedure
(Gold silk dupioni bow)
1.
Remove embroidery unit and embroidery foot and replace with regular arm and
standard presser foot.
2. With the 2½” x 36” piece of fabric folded in half lengthwise,
stitch together with a 5/8” seam. Turn inside out. Press. Do not turn
the ends to the inside and stitch until determining how long the bow on the
box lid should be.
FINISHING
Embroidery
(Victorian Shoe)
1. Remove the stabilizer from embroidered piece.
2. Draw another line around the original marked line, approximately the length
of the trim of the lid, minus 1/8”.
3. Trim around the outer marking line. Clip around the edge close to the inside
marking. See illustration 2.

4. Lightly spray the lid of the box with an adhesive spray as well
as the side of the lid. Place the fabric on the lid and rim so it sticks to
box lid. Make sure to not overspray, as it will saturate the fabric piece. It
also works well to use a glue gun. Optional: line the lid with fabric if
desired.
Border Trim around
the Rim of the Lid (5” x 27” Gold silk dupioni)
Fold each side of embroidered border piece to the wrong side, making sure it
is wide enough to cover the rim of the box lid. Overlap slightly and glue border
piece to rim of box. The overlap should be centered to the back side of box
rim.
Lace Trim around
the Rim of the Lid (White organza ribbon)
1. Glue the lace to the bottom edge of the rim of box on top of the embroidered
border piece that was just glued onto the rim. Try and not overlap the lace
if possible. The lace should hang over the box itself. See illustration 3:

2. Glue the extra lace to
the top of lid and glue bow on lid as in Illustration 4:

3. Cut fabric piece so it fits the
box. (Measure the height of the box to determine how wide to cut fabric, plus
2”. One inch on top to lap over to the inside of box and one inch to lap
over the bottom of box. The length will be determined by measuring the circumference
of box, plus enough fabric to turn end and lap over slightly. Optional:
Glue a lining to the inside of box if desired.
