Best Darn Serger I've Used To Date!

Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

Very easy to thread & follow as it completely opens & all of the lower loopers are exposed. It sews like butter & also have a few other features that some of the other sergers do not have (like the built-in thread cutter).

This make my sixth serger (I've got four Singers & two Pfaffs) and this by far is my favorite one! Now if only they come-out with one like this for the Professional 5 that convert to the cover stitch...then I'll get that one & would be done.

Not Available At Local Sewing Centers.

I just received my Serger last night. The box look in horrible shape. One of the corners were smashed in. When I open the box the Styrofoam form had a large split in it. When I pulled the Serger out of the box I noticed that the serger was a mess. There were loose screws, a piece of the thread stand had broken off, the thread was tangled around the thread pole, the tension dials were way off, and the piece of material was jammed under the pressure foot. I called the company where I bought it from. They stated that I would have to return it. They stated that they did not have anymore of these in stock and that they are not going to be ordering any more of these. Needless to say I was furious and broken hearted at the same time. Well since I had 30 days to return it I decided to clean up the mess it came in. I then tighten all of the loose screws, re-threaded the serger, adjusted the tensions where they should be, unjammed the piece of the material that it came with. I then put the Serger to the test. This machine ran smoothly, could not hear the motor hum, no broken threads, no broken needles, and beautiful stitches.. I am impressed considering that shape that it was in when I first got it. Since I waited a very long time to buy this machine and the price was quite low to where I decided that the piece that had broken off was a very small piece that would not interfere with the operation of the machine. So I called the company back and told them I am going to keep this machine. I believe that it is no different than buying an appliance on a scratch and dent sale. I did not want to give back this machine. Hey this machine survived through the rough beating it took and the fact that it worked so well, so smoothly, no broken threads, no broken needles, beautiful stitches and because of this I am keeping this Serger.

The special sale price was so low, I couldn't pass it up. I was not familiar with ALL serger features available when I purchased this machine. It does NOT do a true cover hem (like that on t-shirts) and I'm very disappointed. I should have purchased the 5 thread Singer serger. Practice corners (armpits, etc.) before sewing final project or you'll end up chopping your fabric. When threading, it MUST be done in order (1, 2, 3, 4) as shown in the manual or serger will jam/break needles. The manual has minimal info and should have foreign languages in separate sections, instead of page by page. Very stable, heavy machine. The "feet" it rests on are actually suction cups which stick to the table surface, so it doesn't slide/walk. Great machine for normal serging.

I found this serger very easy to use. Threading was extremely easy and I love the cutting width guide! The needle threader is a little difficult to use but, I'm sure with practice I'll get the hang of it. The integrated thread cutter is a nice feature as well. Overall, a great machine for the price.
