At first I loved my machine and the accessories.
But soon after I had difficulties . Invisible thread
was a nightmare to use in it .And it began skipping
When stitching, eating the thread. It had to be returned.

I brought this machine from HSN and I love it. The sewing machine runs smooth and very quiet. I love sewing on it. I enjoy using the different attachments. Be careful to use the correct bobbins or the machine will jam.
Cons:Complicated, Manual Is Only Minimally Helpful.

This machine does everything I wanted--and more. I had a 1960's Singer before, and the weight was nice with some heavy fabrics, but I am learning to adjust. This machine has a tone of features, and I'm enjoying it. Learning to use it has been almost like learning to sew again (I am an intermediate sewer that enjoys it and does alot of clothing alterations). I've had many of the issues that the other reviewers have mentioned, but have realized that it's always been operator error. Coming from an old basic machine, this has a ton of adjustments. The manual is only minimally helpful. You have to know what you want to do, but it sews beutifully, has a tone of stitches etc. My only complaint is it doesn't allow enough elongation in some of the basic stitches (like the triple). Sometimes a decorative top stitch can just be altering a basic stitch. It probably does it, but I haven't figured out how to override.
Also bought from HSN and did not use until this year. Same problems with the bobbin thread bunching up cannot use at all and will have to pay to fix. Is this a fault with the machine or with those coming from HSN. In other words is Singer sending faulty products to be sold on HSN?
Like other reviews having trouble with bobbin binding up, feed dog button not working properly which is no good for a quilter trying to machine quilt. Can't unscrew plate to try to clear out jam. Purchased machine from Costco.com last November-went with Singer primarily because of reputation. Well, I'd say to me that reputation is tarnished.
I bought this machine from HSN last year but had not taken it out the box until this week. Needle threader is difficult compared to my other machine. My biggest issue is the bobbin jamming up. I tried everything over and over until I just put it back in the box. I did everything that was suggested to try on the web site. Didn't get to sew anything because of the jamming up. I was using the needle and bobbin that came with the machine and a quality thread. The needle wouildn't even pick up the bobbin thread, and I somehow manually got the thread up. Will not purchase anymore Singer products. This used to be the only brand I would use. Can't send it back because of the time expiration, so I will have to pay to have it fixed by a repair shop locally.
Cons:Poor Quality, Feature Do Not Work, Aggravating

I was very excited to use all the features of this machine. I had some reservation about buying this product as I had issues with a past Singer product.
I thought Singer was a brand that has been selling sewing machines forever and this machine would surely be great.
I was very Dissappointed as with my very first project (making a simple skirt), my machine bobbin jammed and would not sew. I did my trouble shooting and got the machine going, but it would always jam.
I was unable to return this machine due to my work schedule and life in general, it had been over 90 days since my purchase.
I took this machine to a Singer approved repair shop and received it back with all the stitches in working order.
After getting it home I am a little more satisfied, however, some of the functions still do not work. I will probably never buy another Singer product and am very sad that the money I spent is on a product I am not crazy about.
I purchased this thing from HSN in Aug. 2012. I guess the machince sews OK. The machine locks up when bobbin gets low. I think maybe a metal bobbin might correct the problem. I have been unable to find a metal one. The plate is difficult to get off to clean feeders Must have a special screw driver which does not come with the machine. I had a problem with it locking up. I looked at the manual and did what it said. Did not help. The book said to call a 600 number for help. Forget this!!! I called one day at 12:00 noon and I was told by a recording that I was the 4th caller in line. Soi I patiencely waited for 30 mintes, 1 hour, 1 1/2 hours, 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours. Finally the message siad I was the next caller in line. After a while I hear a rign and thought good they finally got to me. To my suprise there was another recording that said "sue to system problem we cannot take your call, call back later". I immediately called back and I received another recorded message that I was the 9th caller in line. So were there system problems, I think not. I guess the 9th caller waited at least 5 hours based on my lenght of time since I was 4th when I called originally. I wondered if they got the same message. That makes me not want to ever deal sith the Singer Company again. If it was not to late to ship this back to HSN I would certainly do it. I will go to a Brother or some other brand due to the "Singer no service!!I wonder if this will make it to the on line reviews.
some parts of it are complicated when changing from zig zag to straight sewing does not always switch over until turned off and restarted
cant fit the starage drawer back in to have it open when the table is taken off
I was looking for a multi-function machine and this seemed to fit the bill. However it is a piece of junk. Does a lot but does nothing well, Frequent jams and needle breaks. Embroidery stitches very small - letters are awful. Purchased for $699 and a few months later at Tuesday Morning for $299. Guess that tells it all.

The alphabet is a waste of time/money. This is my third Singer and I've used them for over 50 yrs for my sewing. This machine is good but the when using med-high speed the bobbin jumps the shuttle inside and you have to stop and reinsert the bobbin again. It also has a spasm and stitches over the same stitches (as if you are using the reverse over and over). There's a design flaw here.
Also the Cut & Hem foot is a joke because you have to clip your fabric and wind it thru the foot before sewing. This foot was promoted as a "serger"...well this will not go around corners or handle heavy fabrics. This is very misleading. I notice they are adding this foot with a lot of other packages, pass it up because it does not work like a serger. I also have the heavy duty (gray) machine and it's a work horse but much louder.
Cons:Poor Quality, Poor Design, Poor Service, Cheaply Made For A Singer

The screwdrivers cannot easily fit into the screws on the presser foot plate for maintenance. The needle threader is cheaply designed also. I have used Singer machines for over 50 years and this is a terrible and cheap machine. Customer service has been a problem, no-one answers the call line and am still waiting for the online to reply.
I amnew to sewing So still learning to sew and use machine Wish their was a video specific to my machine The Instruction manual difficult for a newcomer I am having fun. I am able to sew some straight stitching and cannot wait untill I can use some of the other features. I tried sewing years ago and this is much easier. I am taking lessons so will let you know how the machine works when my skill level improves
Cons:Instruction Book Could Be Better Written, With A Little More Detail In Looking Up Information.

Ordered this from HSN. I love this machine. I've been sewing for years and this machine was just the one to get me started once again. It is easy to use, even with all the functions that it offers. Started sewing with it right out of the box. It offers so many stitch patterns and you can adjust many of them to get larger. Ease of use was what I was after and this machine offers just that. Whatever your level of sewing is, you will love this Singer!
The one thing I wish it came with the instruction CD. Book is kind of hard to use.
I received this machine 1 week ago and I am having so much fun learning all the stitches and features offered. Having so many feet that will do so many things is going to help me to be more creative with crafts and costumes along with many other sewing projects. I look forward to many years of sewing with a machine that has a quality name like Singer.
Cons:Poor Quality, Expensive, Very Few Of The Features That Make It Appear High End Actually Work, Low Quality Even If It Was Half Price.

I bought this machine on HSN when they had it on special. It's a good thing too because if I'd paid full price for it I'd be furiously returning it. The needle threader needs help getting turned all the way through the eye of the needle; the thread cutter cuts great, but doesn't reset for the next seam, so I have to re-set the bobbin completely to get the thread to come up; of the 3 times I've wound a bobbin, one time I had to unroll the whole thing because it didn't wind properly, it was so loose it was loopy. It doesn't have enough heft to hold itself down so just pushing fabric through, it walks away from me. Using the extension table is especially bad because the feet on the table are hard plastic instead of rubber, so it slides all over my sewing table! And that's not even with a quilt! And quite possibly the worst yet is it won't sew through lightweight seams of quilters cotton without me pulling it pretty hard from behind. It just gets stuck right in front of the seam sewing in one spot. Grrrr. If it hadn't been the SECOND one I've tried of the Singer machines from HSN, and also a gift from my husband for our anneversary, I'd probably return it too and go back to a Brother machine. Outside of having all the extra feet and several more decorative stitches, my Brother SQ9000 was a better machine and cost only $200 compared to the $379 I paid for this Singer - on SALE!!! It is now priced at $599, and sold out on HSN, but I imagine they will be getting several returns. For that kind of money, a much much better machine could be found.
Cons:Maybe The Instruction Manual Easier Referenced?

Okay, there is a bit of a story behind this – I have never owned a sewing machine, used several and always got frustrated enough made my decision to not purchase one.
Then HSN offered this one, and I decided I was going to buy one (when I told my husband this, he laughed at me because he knows I do not sew!)
Well it arrived the other day, and I sat down with it and read the instructions…
Guess what?!?!? I CAN sew!!
Love the automatic needle threader and with my old eyes this was a plus I did not know about until I got it! (Due to my husband’s laughter I had to change the channel on the television so did not see a lot of the perks!) . Enjoy the speeds due to I can go S – L – O – W when I need to.
Thought when this came in, I would end up packing it up and sending it back, NOT HAPPENING!
Just don’t tell my family I can sew now!
