Cons:
Poor Quality

I thought I liked the Singer One machine, however after using it for a couple months, I admit I'm dissatisfied with some of the aspects of this machine. I'm adamant about cleaning the bobbin assembly. VERY difficult to get to. No screwdriver was supplied, and the position of the placement of the screws was very difficult to get a screwdriver on. This process does not encourage the user to routinely clean it because of the difficult access, and this leads to poor stitching, and breakdowns. Trying to get on the screws meant cut fingers for me. While I had it apart, I can see the bobbin housing rubs on the bedplate of the machine, This will cause ware and was already visible. Gears are plastic, and I question the long term durability. After reading some of the other reviews, I realize, I too am having the same issue with the foot pedal. Does not respond every time pressure is applied, and does continue sewing after released on occasion.

Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

I love my new Singer! I have finally got a new machine after years of struggling with an old one. I even had another brand "explode," (literally) on me. This machine is a dream to use. It threads easily, runs well. I'm in love!

With time running out to sew my daughter's Great Gatsby prom dress and my old (other brand) machine suddenly biting the dust. I hastily looked through reviews, asked friends on facebook and did some quick comparisons. The One really is an awesome, easy to use and very affordable machine. My hats off to Singer for putting together a great product manual and DVD that really answered all my needs. The dress was a huge success and I look forward to many more projects. Thanks Singer, I even love that I got such cool styling with a mid priced machine too.

Pros:
Good Value, # Of Types Of Stitches
Cons:
Complicated, Bobbin Winder, Amount Of Thread Bobbin Holds, Location Of On/off Switch

I bought my new sewing machine in January,2014. I had always had Singers,as had my Mom and Grandmother. I'd had my last Singer for 27 years and it was time for a new one.

I looked at descriptions of Singers and other brands and decided to stick with Singer.

I was not pleased with my new machine, but decided I just needed to get used to it. Unfortunately, I let the 90 day trial time go by or I would have returned it. The most frustrating feature is the bobbin filler. I have only successfully filled 1 bobbin out of about 20 times. I now know that I have to put my finger on the thread,so that it doesn't mess up. If I don't, the thread does not wind smoothly, winds on the spindle and is basically a mess. I have read the directions several times and tried tightening the screw that the thread goes around-nothing seems to help except holding my finger on the thread which seems ridiculous. These bobbins don't seem to hold as much thread as the ones for my old machine, so I have to go through this process more often.

I wish I was able to stop sewing with the needle in the down position-this helps with turning-especially when making doll clothes, but am not able to do that.

The on/off button is in a very inconvenient spot-why isn't it on the front of the machine?

I do love the self threading feature and the variety of types of stitches.

It's difficult to thread, even with the automatic threader, but otherwise I love the machine!
