Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality
Cons:
Needle Threader Doesn't Always Work.

This machine is perfect for beginners and those who have taken some time off and are ready to sew on a reliable, easy to use machine. I have sewn plenty, but it had been many years. My 10 yr. old daughter is just starting to learn. We needed a new machine that does all that you need but wasn't too expensive. This machine is perfect for both of us! She was able to set it up and run it in less than 5 minutes. I have since used it on several projects around the house, and it runs like a top. The only thing that I don't care for is the needle threader. I think it's more trouble than it's worth, and sometimes it cuts the thread. However, I would give this machine 5 stars for everything else. Give it a try, you won't regret it, and for the price, it's an unbelievable deal!

Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

I am a 67 y.o. male who recently lost weight and had to have pants taken up in the waist and length. I decided to try it myself. The instructions available were clear and concise. My work is not professional, but I am very pleased with my results. I thought sewing would be too difficult for me to comprehend, but Singer 2277 makes it a breeze. It has already paid for itself in seamstress bills. I would highly recommend this to a beginner.

Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

I primarily sew for mending and some crafts and am very satisfied with my new 2277 Tradition. Thankfully, an instructional DVD was included to help me figure out the self-threading feature. It works great!

Cons:
Poor Quality, Complicated

I was given this machine as a gift. I haven't sewn in a number of years, but my previous machine was a singer I had sewn on for over 20 years with no problems. I haven't sewn in many years, so upon receiving the machine as a gift, I was thrilled to brush up on my skills and start some projects--wrong! This machine made bunched up the bobbin thread in knots, and it could not sew over over several layers with trim (making a pillow with cording). The machine kept trying to revert to a zigzag even though it was not set on this stitch. It finally started to make terrible noises, and ended in a huge knot of thread. My project was ruined from all the seam ripping I had to do. The front loading bobbin is difficult to see (as opposed to a drop in). Needle threader didn't always work, easier to do it myself. NOT recommended. Waste of 100 dollars.

Bobbin problems

I have trouble filling the bobbin. The thread is not wound on the bobbin in a smoth even shape,. The thread is more "cone" shape and very uneven. I've watched the video numerous times and find that I have to hold the thread with my left hand very carefully and just so in order for the bobbin to look even halfway decent.
