having the hardest time with the bobbin thread. no matter what I do it bunches and knots. thinking about returning this machine.

I purchased this machine in May, 2012, with only a few hours of operation, none of the stitches except straight stitch will now work. Do not buy this machine.

I bought this machine a little over a year ago. This is the 2nd time i've used it and the handwheel is totally bound up. There are no knots in the bobbin area, the needle is
new, I now, have to take it an hour away to be fixed. I miss my 1969 Singer Touch and Sew :(

I bought the singer scholastic 5523 on 4/16/2011 so I could sew quilts and serge easly. This machine is a piece of junk. I've already had it in the shop because it jumped time and now one month later it has done it again. I'm 57 years old and have sewed for many years and I have never had the trouble this machine has given me. One a scale of one to ten I give this one a 0! I would NOT recommend anyone to buy it!
