  • Buttonhole sewing is a simple 1-step process providing reliable results every time. The sides of the buttonholes are sewn in the same direction to prevent gaps in stitching or fabric distortion.
  • Exclusive Buttonhole Underplate
  • The buttonhole foot with underplate sandwiches fabric between a lower plate and the foot to ensure perfect buttonholes on multiple layers of fabric. Effectively, this is like a mini-embroidery hoop in which the machine feeds the attachment, rather than the fabric. No Quarter Inch Quilters Foot

Getting the sewing machine was a brave adventure. Oh I know how to sew but I am still learning things. Thank goodness for youtube though, got me up to date with all the functions of the machine. I love and I mean love the start/stop button. Don't even have to use the foot feed. Thank goodness for that never have to worry to slow or too fast. Love the needle threader great with all kinds of threads. Only one minor thing is thee was not a quarter inch quilting with guide with the machine. Other than that minor item great machine for the money.

Needle Threader Broke After Fifth Use

I love this machine! So easy to use and very quiet! Almost finished quilting my first quilt and am lucky I got this too help finish it!! Only negative is a little plastic piece broke off my needle threader.. So now it moves ???? and eventually I'm sure will break off if I'm not careful.

I do have one issue.. my thread keeps breaking But will continue to check out why! I started quilting 4 months ago using a Singer 7442 and it was great for making the grandkids clothes and for myself. BUT, when I started quilting, I NEEDED MORE! And the 9960 Quantum Stylist gives me so much more! I used YouTube to check out many different sewing machines, but for the overall use and value, I chose Singer 9960. Definitely a quality machine and I grew up with Singer and never used anything else. My first machine was a 1955 Singer in a cabinet and it was a workhorse! Wish I'd kept it. But so happy to own my 9960. I Love It!

Overall I like the machine. The only thing I'm not wild about is how the seams look once you sew them. Because of the cutting feature for the thread, when you start the next seam the thread end gets sewed into the seam, making it look messy. I like neat. Other than that I have no problems with this machine.
