I bought the 2010 two years ago and LOVE it so much I bought 2 more for gifts!
Tips not in manual: As with all top loading drop in bobbin sewing machines make sure the bobbin thread lays across the left part of bobbin after you pull it up with the needle. And it should stay across the bobbin while sewing. If the thread is not laying across top of bobbin, then redo bobbin or your stitches will appear wonky--as if you have tension problems when actually you don't. Use stabilizer under fabric for decorative stitches--and you get so many pretty stitches to choose from too! Use only 'class 15' bobbins-not 15J. Stitches are numbered on pull out cards under machine--I LOVE that you don't have to scroll to find the stitch you want! Manual is easy to follow/understand. This machine is pre-lubricated at the factory so you won't find how to oil it in the manual--you don't have to. All it's great features make this an AWESOME SEWING MACHINE and the price is lower now than it was 2 years ago!
Pros:Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality, Manuals Included Are Great

This machine ROCKS! It comes with everything you could need--bought a pink/purple tackle box to hold it all and labeled each compartment with a Sharpie pen to organize all the parts/presser feet. Instruction books have illustrations & are easy to understand--they're the best booklets I've ever recieved with a technical product--and all in English--no wading through different languages!!! Did have what I 'thought' was a tension problem-it wasn't-just didn't have the needle tightened tight enough. Be sure to use 'class 15' (not 15J) bobbins and follow the directions for loading. Jammed bobbin thread means you're using the wrong bobbin, or didn't load correctly. LOVE all the features-being able to sew by pushing buttons to stop, start, needle up or down, speed up or down, etc. I absolutely LOVE this machine and learned it easily after using only my Kenmore for 35 years! I'm an almost 60 year old sewer--if I can figure out how to use this machine to it's full advantage then everyone should be able too. I LOVE IT!
I received this machine as a gift. Actually, my husband told me to pick any sewing machine I wanted, regardless of price. This is the machine I selected and I'm so glad I did!
This machine sews like a dream. I love all the features and the parts that come with it. I can sew anything without having to purchase additional parts. I've tried some of the embroidery stitches and they're fantastic!
It's a little pricey for the average sewer, but worth every penny. It makes all my projects look so much better and more professional.
Pros:Good Value, Light Weight, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality, Quiet

Had the machine for less than a month but so far I love it. Bought it to replace a 25 yr old Quantum that had seen better days. I chose the Superb as it has many of the same features and more stitches than my old machine, all for less money. Plus, it's weighs less than the old Quantum so I can take it anywhere. The instuction booklet is very easy to understand, which is always a plus. I'm very happy with my Superb.
Cons:A Little Complicated For Non Computerized Sewer, But Once I Got Started It Was Ok.

My old Singer broke down and I had to find a replacement for it. I liked the idea of an embroidery machine, but I didn't have the "big bucks" to shell out for one. So, I began looking at machines that did basic sewing and also had a few embroidery type stitches. I compared the Brother and the Singer. The Singer was the best buy for the money. At first I was a little bit afraid to learn how to use the computerized machine, but now that I have started ... well, I love it! I trust the Singer product, and know this machine will serve me well.
Pros:Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, Fun To Use
Cons:Poor Quality, Noisy, Poorly Made With Plastic

My husband saw this machine and encouraged me to get it. After receiving it early in 2010, I discovered that it was very poorly made of plastic. It is very noisy as if it needs to be oiled. It is still very noisy and I wonder if this one was forgotten when they oilled them. The cover plate (located in front of the feed dogs) was cracked where it inserts into the machine as if it was bent in handling. I have used it carefully as to not break it off. This machine would be a big joy to use if it wasn't so noisy. Constant gears grinding, etc. Maybe I am just concerned that it might break because of the noise. Regardless of my cons with this machine, I would not give it up and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to sew or learn to sew.
The bobbin thread is driving me crazy.. Everytime I start to stitch, the bobbin knots up, and it is loaded correctly. I've spent so much time seam ripping not to mention the wasted thread. Also, I cannot find bobbins that work in the machine. It says that they are Class 15, but I've bought them, and when trying to wind the thread on the bobbin, the bobbin holder just spins, like the hole in the bobbin is too big. The only ones that seem to work are the 5 that came with the machine. I'm returning the machine ASAP.. I've never had this much trouble with a brand new machine.
Decorative stitches was the key selling point along with the fact it was on sale. Love it. Only drawback is not fitting in old sewing machine table I got from my in-laws. Machine bounces when stitching at high speed. Love this little machine.
Just got the machine but love it already!
Read the manual from A to Z and started to sew. It was that easy. I have never used an electronic sewing machine before, and was a bit intimidated by all the buttons and features. But after reading the manual and watching the DVD, I am now sewing like a pro. It has so many wonderful features! I can't wait to put all those decorative stitches on my sewing projects...
My suggestions to everyone; read the manual and watch the DVD as many times as necessary.
Pros:Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality
Cons:Would Be Nice To Include A 1/4 Inch Foot.

I had not used a sewing machine in many years. The Superb is superb. It is easy to use and I am impressed with the many accessories that are included with the machine. Since I am doing machine quilting, I had to purchase a 1/4 inch foot. Sewing is very easy and the machine takes care of most of the settings automatically. It is lightweight, which is nice since I take it with me to my quilting circle. I am completely satisfied with this machine.
Pros:Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality, Singer
Cons:Better Instructions On Storing In Memory.

I love my new sewing machine. I am still having a few problems figuring out how to store the stitches in memory mode, and the alphabetic letters in script really don't look right, but I am not sure I am doing it right. I have sewn a quilted throw and very impressed with my machine so far.
Pros:Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

I love this machine. Ordered it from HSN in September & missing clear zipper foot from bonus package, got it on 11/05/12. Thanks. Bobbin is quite noisy, will get the silicone disks & see if that helps. Still working on memory programming, not got it yet. Still love it.
I really really wanted to love this machine, it has all the fancy features you could possibly need, but i was convinced with the addition of an "eyelet" function, professional looking embroidered eyelets with a myriad of uses were just a touch away, a feature found on machines at double this price.. Sadly, i was disappointed, the feed mechanism on this machine is not accurate enough to perform this task well enough, especially on heavier fabrics, it just embroidered a spiral!! Buttonholes were magnificent, but slow, basic sewing felt weak and un-responsive! Come on Singer, give us an accurate computerized machine with a proper servo-motor, not a kids toy motor!
I love this machine, however it did not arrive with the instructional DVD as stated, and I cannot find in the great instructional manual how to make the letters and numbers larger than a 1/4 inch?? Can anyone help with this??? Thanks
