  • Over 1,000 Stitch Functions
  • Select from over 1,000 Stitch Functions. Fulfill your creative dreams with a large selection of decorative stitches, alphabet stitches, and construction stitches.
  • Large Back-Lit LCD Screen
  • Provides clear and easy viewing of stitch functions including stitch width and length, tension settings, and the recommended presser foot
  • Four Memory Modules
  • Four Memory Modules each hold up to 20 entries. Place names, simple phrases and decorative stitch sequences in each of these four modules, then retrieve them anytime you want to personalize your projects.
  • Mirror Imaging and Elongation Function
  • With just a touch of a button selected stitches can be mirrored imaged, adding even more stitch variety. Want to make a stitch longer yet keep the stitch intact? Select the Elongation button and select stitches can be made up to 5 times longer.
  • Electronic Auto Pilot
  • Unplug the foot control, press the Start button and the machine sews. You are still in complete control over the speed - just slide the Speed Limiting Lever to the desired speed.
  • Programmable Needle Up/Down
  • The needle can be programmed to stop in the highest up position when your foot is lifted from the controller, making it easier for removing the fabric from the machine. Or program the needle to stop in the down position, which is ideal for pivoting, appliquéing or quilting.
  • Heavy Duty Metal Frame
  • The internal rigid support holds all the mechanisms in perfect alignment for skip-free sewing and overall durability.
  • Extension Table
  • Provides a larger working area, an essential for quilting, home decor sewing, or when working with a larger project.
  • 2 Built-In Alphabets
  • Personalize projects by adding a monogram, name or phrase with the built-in block or script style alphabets, both available in upper and lower case.
  • Horizontal Threading
  • Quality stitches begin with proper thread delivery. Placing the thread spool in the horizontal position allows for the thread to feed more evenly, reducing poor stitch formation and thread breakage.
  • Automatic Needle Threader
  • Makes threading the eye of the needle quick and painless.
  • Top Drop-in Bobbin
  • This mechanism incorporates a magnet-type vertical axis rotating hook that ensures smooth, quiet, thread jam resistant sewing. The bobbin loads from the top, so it is easy to insert the bobbin. The clear cover makes it easy to monitor the bobbin thread supply.
  • Automatic Bobbin Winding Declutching
  • The needle bar automatically disengages when winding the bobbin. This keeps the needle from moving up and down while winding the bobbin, therefore making bobbin winding safer.
  • 9 Fully Automatic 1-Step Buttonholes
  • Buttonhole sewing is a one-step simple process, providing reliable results every time.
  • Built-In Stretch Stitches
  • Specially designed stitches that add strength and flexibility to seams, especially useful when sewing on knitwear and super-stretch fabrics
  • Adjustable Stitch Length
  • Automatic settings for length can be overridden to personalize length choice.
  • Adjustable Stitch Width
  • Automatic settings for width can be overridden to personalize width choice.
  • Center Zigzag Taper
  • When tapering with the zigzag stitch, the stitch tapers to the center, not the left or right. This feature is especially valuable when doing appliqué, because it provides a more attractive look when tapering into or out from a point.
  • Automatic Locking Stitch Function
  • Tie-off decorative and utility stitches with just a push of a button. Three tiny tacking stitches reinforce patterns and stitches to prevent unraveling.
  • Automatic Reverse
  • Push the conveniently located Automatic Reverse Button to sew in reverse and reinforce the stitch.
  • 7mm Stitch Width
  • Select stitches can be set for a maximum width of 7mm creating attractive satin and decorative stitches.
  • Electronic Twin Needle Control
  • Select stitches automatically adjust for twin needle sewing with just the touch of a button.
  • 13 Needle Positions
  • Needle position can be changed for individual projects like inserting zippers, cording and topstitching.
  • Editing Capabilities
  • It’s easy to make changes or replace your selections within the Memory Module.
  • Error Warning
  • An audible warning alerts the sewer if something is incorrect. The audible warning can be deactivated, if desired.
  • Pattern Override Memory
  • Select a pattern, override the width and/or length, place the stitch in a Memory Module, and the machine will remember those changes for future use.
  • Sewing Speed
  • With a maximum sewing speed of 750 stitches-per-minute, projects can be sewn quickly.
  • Automatic Presser Foot Pressure Control
  • The amount of pressure exerted on the fabric by the presser foot against the feed dogs is adjusted automatically. Sew from the lightest weight tricots to the heaviest denim, without making presser foot pressure adjustments.
  • Automatic Tension
  • This system ensures stable stitch quality regardless of the type of fabric.
  • Extra-High Presser Foot Lifter
  • Advantageous when placing multiple layers or bulky fabric under the presser foot
  • Free Arm
  • Provides professional results and easy access to cuffs, collars, pant hems and other difficult-to-reach areas
  • 7-Segment Feeding System
  • This is a specially designed feed dog that ensures that the fabric is picked up and supported from the front of the presser foot to the rear. This provides for much more accurate feeding of the fabric.
  • Box Feed
  • This is a function that moves the feed dogs in a box motion, rather than the historic arc motion. Box motion assures perfect feeding throughout the entire feed process, as the feed dogs are always in perfect and equal contact with the fabric and presser foot.
  • Drop Feed
  • A conveniently located lever lowers the feed dogs for free-motion embroidery, monograms and button sewing.
  • Snap-On Presser Feet
  • Easily change snap-on presser feet without use of a screwdriver.
  • Thread Cutter
  • Located on the machine for precise thread cutting, eliminating the extra step of cutting thread with scissors
  • DC Motor
  • Provides instant start up and stop with no coasting, for accurate and precise stitch placement.
  • Standard Accessories
  • All-Purpose Foot, Zipper Foot, Buttonhole Foot, Blind Hem Foot, Satin Stitch Foot, Overcasting Foot, Darning & Embroidery Foot, Gathering Foot, Rolled Hem Foot, Button Sewing Foot, Edge/Quilting Guide, Pack of Needles, Bobbins, Thread Spool Caps, Auxiliary Spool Pin, Spool Pin Felt, Screwdrivers, Brush/Seam Ripper, Soft-Sided Dust Cover, Extension Table

Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, Lots Of Accessories Included
Cons:
Complicated, Manual Needs To Be Improved

This is the 1st electronic machine I have owned. I have had several basic machines that were both Brother as well as Singer. When trying to choose a machine I had a lot of options to choose from. The Superb however had the most features all in one machine all for one very inexpensive price. My Superb is a really nice machine. It does every little thing all by itself just by the push of a button. I read all these reviews and I have no clue about some of the complaints that I've read here. It sews designs wonderful at any speed and I haven't had any problems with the automatic threader. Nothing has broken on it so far. Only thing I wish was a little better is the instruction manual. To me it isnt simple enough to understand how to set the machine to do what u want. I had to press buttons and figure it out to a degree on my own. The Dvd that comes with it is great but its generic covering machines in general no Superb specific instructions. Considering how well this machine sews, all the accessories included (which is a LOT), and the fact that it does so many different stitches at the touch of a button, and is so super quiet....I think its a wonderful machine and I'm very pleased. It sewed a perfect stitch straight out of the box with no adjustments necessary. Honestly for all this machine has to offer I can't believe it's price. Like I said...the instructions need improvement because they were not good enough to get me going initially on the machine. I can't imagine anyone having a problem with this machines quality. Love the fact of all these accessories that come with it! How this machine holds up long term remains unknown for me at this time. Nor have I had any dealings with the company to know how they are in ref to problems or repairs, etc.....so far I'm very pleased.

Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, Super Straight Stitching Machine!
Cons:
Concerned About Plastic Parts-specifically Bobbin Cover

I have just started using this electronic machine after *34* years of sewing on my trusty Kenmore. Sears is no longer making the Kenmore machines and couldn't repair my old one, but courteously offered me a hefty discount on another machine, so long as it was carried in inventory by Sears. The selection was severely limited, but I chose the Superb, as my only other real choices were a Singer Heavy Duty or a Brother machine.

I am impressed right out of the box, with everything other than the (to me) excessive use of Plastic. In particular, I don't like the clear plastic bobbin cover; it doesn't fit well and it is tricky to get it to hold in place. I envision the little clip breaking off (it's like the little battery doors on other electronics or flashlights, etc., and I've broken plenty of those!)

For the life of me, I can't get the automatic needle threader to work despite reading and re-reading the instructions and even viewing videos of the process. Not a deal breaker for me though, as I can certainly still thread a needle without help.

I haven't tried all the fancy stitches yet, and don't have a lot of use for most of them, but I will RAVE about the straight stitching this machine produces! I doubt my old machine was ever this good! I also love the needle up/down function which is great for pivoting your work without having to check the needle position. The start-stop button was a breeze to become familiar with - I have never even plugged in the foot control. That too is awesome.

I have lots of projects in mind for my machine, and will review it again after longer use. I hope my concerns about the plastic and needle threader will be resolved and I can give the machine a 5* rating!

New Machine

I bought my 2010 Superb in July 2013 . I have always bought a Brother Sewing Machine but decided to try a Singer. Well I have had to send it in twice for repair. I have spent almost $100.00 on postage alone as I had to mail the machine to the repair shop. I am disappointed in my new Singer Superb Sewing Machine. I sent a letter to Singer in March 2014 and have not today had any response from the company! Not sure I would buy another one.

Disappointed with Singer

Pros:
Quiet

I've had this machine for 4 months and sew every week on various projects. I wanted an upgrade from the Singer 6235 I have used for many years. Although the machine is much quieter, I haven't found any other so-called features that make it an improvement. The bobbin winder is terribly inefficient compared to the 6235. The needle threader has never worked. Threading the machine and the bobbin sometimes take several careful attempts and leave me with birdsnests to remove or skipped stitches. Yesterday, I was switching to a new needle after undergoing this problem, and troubleshooting, and the thumbscrew holding the thread guide and needle just fell apart. Thankfully I kept my older machine and was able to complete my project, but I have been in a customer support que for 20 minutes and I am now #10 in line to try and get the part. The decorative stitches I've tried have not been impressive so far, and the autolock feature doesn't work in the zigzag mode. I could go on.
