I bought this machine thinking it was a better quality, heavy duty machine to sew denim and such, this this has given me nothing but headaches , it is very temperamental machine, if anything if off in the least bit , it will not sew properly, Ive had trouble with the bobbin not staying in place,You have to used singer needles only. The lighting is horrible on it. I would not recommend this machine. I think I would been just as well off buying a cheap one walmart. Not been very happy with it.

Pros:
Still Trying To Get Help
Cons:
Still Not Sure If I Just Got A Machine With Defective Parts Or This Machine Is Just Poor Quality

This machine seems to sew fast but in less then one month three of the presser feet have just broken on me. Ridiculous right ! I also type in the model number on singer's site and it gives me no results for the accessories. Also I have been trying to contact Singer at their 1800 474-6437. On hold again today going on 20 minutes.

Cons:
Poor Quality, Complicated

This machine was purchased to do heavy duty sewing on a variety of materials. For basic sewing projects, it does ok. However, there are some problems. The self threader is basically useless. The bobbin tangles and has since the first test use after purchase. The tension is difficult to keep at a proper tautness. Changing to different feet is tricky at best. After using this machine for the past 2 months, I regret the purchase.

Pros:
Easy To Use
Cons:
Poor Quality

I bought this machine and did little on it for the first couple of months of ownership. I started a project (a pillow) and couldn't get it stitched before the mechanism bound up. In total, I have made less than 100 inches of total stitches.

I took it to an authorized Singer sewing center and was told it was not covered by warranty. I ended up paying another 42% of the purchase price to get it out of the shop - all along cursing myself for throwing good money after bad. The service technician explained to me that the machine had not been adjusted/lubricated properly at the manufacturing site. It sure seems like this would be basic process - but Singer must know how to build sewing machines (?).

Not sure what "commercial grade" means, it sure doesn't mean it is a reliable product.

I believe you would serve yourself well by looking for another brand.

Pros:
Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality
Cons:
Automatic Threader Came Loose From Its Connection

I've only had the machine for about 2 months. The automatic threader came loose from it attachment on the inside which caused to needle to hit the needle plate every time i tried to sew. I did use the machine a lot using canvas fabric to make handbags. The machine does rattle when I sew, which may have caused the threader to come loose.

I've been very please with this machine up until this point. I'm currently seeking advice as to how it can be fixed.
