New Products

Singer Sewing Company today announced the launch of the Vivo by SINGER® Create and Repair Machine. This machine meets consumer demand for practicality and convenience by taking the trouble out of fixing minor tears, repairing or altering clothing and adding fun, creative embellishments to personal fashion and home décor items.

“While SINGER® is known for sewing, we designed the Vivo with the non-sewer in mind as a handy household tool everyone can use,” said Katrina Helmkamp, CEO of SVP Worldwide, producer of the SINGER® brand. “With this machine, sprucing up your living space, taking on do-it-yourself projects, and completing basic household repairs is now quicker and easier than ever before.”

Simple to use, carry and store, the Vivo by SINGER® Create and Repair Machine weighs only 7.2 pounds and can be conveniently used anywhere in the house. It enables users to effortlessly fix small tears, join pieces of fabric together, and hem and patch garments at the touch of a button. It also is ideal for attaching decorative trim and adding stylish appliqué details to garments or accessories.

The Vivo™ by SINGER® Create and Repair Machine retails for under $80 and is available at Walmart stores nationwide and Walmart.com

SINGER® FUTURA “Embroidery Made Easy” Newsletter (August)

Embroidery Made Easy, New Products, Tips & Hints

Welcome to the August 2013 issue of Embroidery Made Easy, a monthly newsletter designed to showcase tips, hints and projects for your SINGER® FUTURA™ sewing & embroidery machine.

Have you ever wondered how to create a large embroidery design?  A design that was too large to be embroidered in a single hoop?

You can do just that with your SINGER® FUTURAsewing & embroidery machine! Larger design layouts are easily achieved by using the Multiple Hoop feature built into the software. In this month’s issue of Embroidery Made Easy, we are going to explore Multiple Hoop embroidery, while also introducing another software function called Repeat Design.

In our Project of the Month, we’ll show you how to put a creative twist on monogramming by using Multiple Hooping, Repeat Design and built-in lettering to texture fabric in an unconventional way! Complete instructions are included to show you how to take the textured fabric and use it to create a personalized handbag.

In addition, we’ll take a look at one of the ways you can change the appearance of the software screen, by using the Change Screen Color feature. It’s a handy tool that you’ll use frequently. So let’s “think big” and explore Multiple Hooping!
